Dudley Ryder School in Staffordshire opened in 1825, there were originally two classrooms one for boys and one for girls with the Headmasters house in the middle. There was around 100 pupils in attendance who would be expected to attend between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm Mon to Fri and 9:30am to 2pm on Sunday which was also compulsory. Due to falling pupil numbers this school was closed in July of 1981 and the remaining 17 students went off to join another school.
