Here are some highlights from our Paranormal Investigation at Gresley Old Hall, located in the rural town of Swadlincote in Derbyshire, England.

HISTORY

Before Gresley Old Hall, a 12th Century Priory once stood on these grounds that lasted until 1543 just after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The name "Gresley" dates back to the 11th Century, as it was written down in the Domesday Book of 1086, under the Middle English name of Gresele. The Main building of the Old Hall was constructed in 1556, using leftover materials from the original 12th Century Priory. Gresley Old Hall was fully built in the year 1664.

Most of the present day building is Victorian, but some parts of the older building remain; an 18th Century staircase is still in use but just barely, and one of the chimney stacks from the 16th Century is still seen today.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY AND GHOSTS

A number of different ghosts and spirits have been seen and heard within this building. A 12th Century Monk in robes and a hood is sometimes seen and heard inside the building. It is believed this Monk might have been in hiding or wanted tranquility, as many people have reported hearing shushes in their ears. The apparition of a Maid dressed in Victorian clothing is often seen and heard inside the building as well. In 2015, a group of Paranormal Investigators and Medium Ian Griffiths, captured what they believed to be the Victorian Maid, during a smoke experiment. Sightings of Children have also been reported at this Old Hall as well.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION

We believe by the end of that night, we came into contact with the 12th Century Monk who kept telling us to be quiet. We also believe we came into contact with a child spirit.
