For those who fought in it, the Vietnam war was a life changing experience. US troops, who trained for conventional warfare, instead faced an enemy that fought in quite unconventional ways. Many soldiers returned home with stories that claimed it wasn't only the Viet Cong who presented imminent danger to them. Some reported coming under attack by something else, primates dubbed “rock apes” or "Batutut", who presented a different kind of peril. We'll examine various theories regarding these creatures and in the end, you can make up your own minds if the Batutut is fiction or something real and yet uncatalogued.
