During the great bird migration many of them are flying south for the winter. This lake sits between 5'600' to 6'400' so the birds come here to rest. I must had counted over a thousand birds on the lake after awhile some would leave and more would show up. The area is also known for having Bald and Golden Eagles. This is in addition to owls, geese, ducks, black birds etc. They are on the reservoir to feed some might dive for fish others may get what very few insects are left with the crisp fall looming.
