As the legend goes a woman was accused of witchcraft and she was burned at the stake which ultimately burned her house down with her. As she was dying she lay a curse on the land and anyone who would inhabit it. A wealthy man, the very man who accused her of witchcraft bought her land after she died and put up a huge house with Seven Gables Road.
The man eventually went insane and killed his whole family and then hung them and himself from the seven gables of his house. He set fire to his house and then hung himself as it burned to the ground.
It is said if you pass through and hear a scream and you are the last to pass through the gate that you will die in a matter of days.
