ClubZero Conduct the very first investigation in 2009 at plague cottage located in Eyam, Hope Valley in the county of Derbyshire.

The great plague came to Eyam in 1665 via a bundle of flea infested cloth that arrived from London to Alexander Hadfield, the local tailor. His assistant George Viccars had opened up the bundle and was dead within a week with the rest of his household dying soon after.

As the plague spread over the course of 14 months, the villagers turned to the local reverend for help and in 1666 the entire village was quarantined from the outside world to prevent further spread.

273 villagers died as a result of the plague with 83 surviving the pandemic.

This figure would have been much higher in the surrounding areas if the village did not act and quarantine itself from the rest of the population.

It is reported that many of these souls who perished still roam the village with many sightings recorded over the years.
