Pere Cheney - Cursed Ghost Town - Paranormal History

Located in Northern Michigan, lies the ghost town of Pere Cheney Michigan, also called Cheney and Center Plains, was a village located in Crawford County, Michigan in the late 19th century. It is located in Beaver Creek Township and was once a small lumbering town.

Some legends say the town was cursed from the very beginning because it was built on sacred Native American land. Scarlet fever, smallpox, and diphtheria took the lives of many people, including children, during the few decades Pere Cheney was in existence.

Others believe the town was curses by a women who was accused of being a witch. She was cast out of town into the woods since she had a child and was not married. She then placed a witch's curse on the town and there are several who believe that this is what brought in the diseases and eventually destroyed most of the population.

All that is left now is some ruins and the Pere Cheney Cemetery. Although, beware, you might not want to go searching for this location. Those who have stayed there, do not like visitors.
