Imagine waking up in the middle of the night, to find a tall man wearing an old fashioned hat, his face shadowed, looming over you in bed. He’s intently examining you with pure evil radiating from his cold death-like stare. He lingers in your bedroom. You grip your bedsheets, you’re terrified to the core and shaking profusely.
Just when you think he’s going to attack, he disappears. He’s gone,
without a trace.
In this documentary eyewitnesses share their true stories of how they encountered this ‘Hat Man’. A being who torments their dreams,seemingly in conjunction with sleep paralysis and night terrors…Terrors that in some cases, also affect daily life.

None of the eyewitnesses were paid actors. All the drawings in the film were sketched by the eyewitnesses themselves. The eyewitnesses were interviewed on camera or via Skype throughout the globe. The film contains real life photographs of what the witnesses claim to be the Hat Man caught on camera. Each reenactment was produced and shot in horror esthetic and 4K resolution.

Kyle J. Macias is an aspiring filmmaker specializing in narrative films and documentary films alike. He’s an avid researcher and paranormal aficionado covering a wide range of subjects, such as; the occult, entity contact and unknown realms.
“The Hat Man: Documented Cases of Pure Evil”, is his first documentary feature covering the subject of shadow people, specifically focusing in on the distinct figure, the internet and eyewitnesses have dubbed ‘The Hat Man’.
Kyle J. Macias delved into the subject of ‘shadow people’ back in 2008, when he learned that his own family has had experiences with the “Hat Man”.
Throughout the duration of making this film, it came to Kyle’s attention that the ‘Hat Man’, is not just a figure seen in sleep paralysis or nightmares. The eyewitnesses are adamant that they also see him in waking life. Manifesting under street lamps, in the
back of passenger seats, in the corner of the room, on the side of the road, peaking around corners and in some cases physical attack. Is the Hat Man hiding in the darkest places of our subconscious? Or is he crossing over to our physical existence? It may be both!
