Layer Marney Tower is a Tudor palace located in Layer Marney, Essex, England. It was built in the early 16th century by Henry, 1st Lord Marney, a favourite of King Henry VIII. In fact, the King himself visited and stayed at the property.
Standing at 80 feet, the tower is the tallest Tudor gatehouse in England. The palace was envisioned to be a grand country house, a rival to any royal palace of its era. Despite the project never reaching full completion due to the untimely deaths of Henry and his son, John the 2nd Lord Marney, the palace today is a bustling venue. It opens its doors to visitors and hosts various events, from romantic weddings and joyous celebrations to professional corporate events.
This documentary covers the history and the many hauntings that occur there, which I am sure you will enjoy.
