In July of 2019, we traveled to Athens, Ohio and one of our stops was at the West State Street Cemetery where we stopped to check out the paranormal claims of the statue of the angel that weeps for those who are buried in the cemetery in unmarked graves. In this video we will show you this cemetery and conduct a short paranormal investigation. In 1806 the first person was buried at what is now the West State Street Cemetery, a beautiful graveyard settled easily on the rolling hills of Athens. Over the years following, veterans from the Revolutionary War and Civil War would be buried here along with congressmen, a baseball player, and even a notorious murderer. Some early headstones have long perished to the harsh Ohio elements over the last two hundred years. Many of these fallen gravestones belonged to soldiers who fought for independence not only from outsiders, but also in the ware between north and south.

West State Street Cemetery is one of Athens most historic cemeteries, and is often associated with the legend of the Pentagram Cemeteries. West State Street Cemetery is also home to the legendary "Weeping Angel" statue, who eye-witnesses claim cries tears, moves, and even whispers to passing visitors.
