Back in the day poverty stricken families would use wooden grave markers at grave-sites rather then stone. This symbolized that the family most of the time was to poor to afford the more elaborate type of gravestones. This particular section contains many wooden grave-markers most are very weathered or cracked due to the elements. In front of each wooden grave marker is a bronze cross it definitely is the most intimidating part of this cemetery especially at night.
