The road into Bodie is about 13 miles long with the last three of them being unpaved. This road not only can take you into Americas most well preserved ghost town but also other numerous mining camps and town sites that once boomed in the 1800s. Some of the harshest winter weather in the United States takes place right where I am driving thus in the winter this road is very inaccessible without having snowmobiles.
