The narrow path up to Lake Dardanelles contains some of the oldest trees in the region. While some of them still stand you can see others have fallen down and are dying. Sometimes when lightening strikes or the tree gets diseased or not enough water it dies. So for quite a long time we come across massive trees laying on there sides along our journey like the ones you see in this video. They call this region Lake Valley because it has a variety of fairly good sized lakes but all of them require pure hiking and stamina to get too.
