This is a short tour of the St. George Hotel which I start from the bottom in the parlor and work my way to the upper floor. I also give you a little more in depth history surrounding this hotel. The hotel in 1853 called the Eureka burnt down and in 1859 the Empire burnt down as well. In 1861 they decided to rebuild it a third time using mortar and brick to prevent the fire demon from staking its claim. That is because many of the locals felt that Volcano California was cursed by a fire demon as many of the major sites within town burned down over and over again. Today this historic hotel stands strong with a few resident ghost stories that haunt its dark halls today. This is one of the most historical finest hotels of the Mother Lode!
