The journey through Lemon Canyon is that of a long one but if you decide to take it like I did then you will have an opportunity to offroad down an old wagon road into the back way of historic Sierraville. Along the way you will see lush forest, muddy roads and deer grazing on the side of the canyons walls. This back country is as good as it gets definitely allot of adventure, birch and pine trees. There are areas where you will cross cattle guards and other places the forest gets so dense that the sun barely penetrates the floor. This is a part of the Tahoe National Forest not allot of folks get to see unless you were an early pioneer. If you were one then you may have taken one of these wagon trails to venture to towns like Truckee, Boca, Carson City, Virginia City and even Sierraville. The trek would have been very dangerous in the 1800's this area gets heavy snow and this is the heart of desolation. From our journey atop of Sardine Peak we would continue westward on a road less taken.
