The last leg of our journey would take us up and over a ridge through the Tahoe National Forest. On the ridge to the north are views of the Little Truckee River basin below while to the south is the Sagehen Basin. From atop of the ridge are also some really fantastic views of the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains. We would work our way off the ridge to a an area where their is glacial till left behind from the Donner Glacier which carried earth and rocks. Some of the natural rocks found in this region date back to the Jurassic and Triassic periods. Eventually we would journey through the forest following once again Sagehen Creek where along the way I heard movement begin to film that is when I stumbled across a muddy hand print in the earth, vertebrae bone, red stained pine needles and eventually a very large track of some kind. The sun was setting so at the times it gets dark in these parts a little earlier then it should. Anything could be out there just waiting or watching what would we find? Our journey was nearing an end everything and the adventure full circle literally. This was the thrill of the hunt and we were on the prowl!
